I was going to be a pain and use the ‘up to interpretation’ schtick. But nah, I’ll just be straightforward today, shall I?

It was written with the intent to be taken as an alternate ending if the reader so chose. But there are two snippets—namely the title and the ending bit with the ring—that point to its obviously illusory status. And though the title implies that it might have been something Sollux dreamed up, that’s not really what I was going for. The title and the ring are just to give an overall tone of illusion. Like yes, this can be seen as an alternate ending, but certain aspects of it clearly point back to “TOSOTH Canon” as being the “true” reality.
